Easter bunny, chocolates, samosas and some magic!

Hi-Viz Heroes and NHS staff at Langley Health Centre had a surprising visit by the Easter Bunny on Friday 9 April. The Easter Bunny hopped throughout the surgery delivering Easter eggs to show volunteers and staff appreciation for their time and efforts. The event was arranged by Slough CVS and the One Slough team and was filled with a buzz of enthusiasm among volunteers, music booming, Patrick the magician showing his magic tricks and Slough CVS staff performing a follow the leader dance outside the surgery. Many Hi-Viz Heroes took the opportunity to have their photos taken with the Easter Bunny.

Antz Kidz, who arranged for the Easter Bunny said, “It was wonderful to meet all the volunteers that have been working tirelessly to deliver the vaccination service to the local community. Everyone needs a friend that is all ears and so it’s been egg-citing to share some happiness with some bunnies. We had the pleasure to give out some Easter treats too! After a cracking week, we love a good hoppy ending! Thank you to Slough CVS for this wonderful opportunity and kind hospitality.”

Volunteers were treated to samosas, onion bhaji and chocolate boxes gifted by Asda Slough, which were handed out by the Easter bunny. As the day warmed and the sun came out an ice cream van pulled out outside Langley Health Centre for volunteers to enjoy.

Sutyee, from GoodGym Slough said “I absolutely love volunteering it gets me out the house, knowing I’ll be part of the mass vaccination programme to save lives. Also, I enjoy face to face interaction and having a great laugh. Greeting locals who haven’t been out for almost a year, their smiles are what makes it more memorable. It’s very rewarding to volunteer!”.

Langley Health Centre showed their appreciation to volunteers by a kind donation.  They said, “Dear volunteers , many thanks for your hard work. from LHC.”
