Vaccination take up at Pakistan Welfare Association Ladies Coffee Morning

Pakistan Welfare Association Slough held its first Ladies Coffee Morning, since the start of COVID-19 pandemic, on Wednesday this week.

The social event was enjoyed by everyone who came along. Shaida Akbar, Vice President said, “It was amazing to see so many smiles and happy faces after all the difficulties people have faced over the last months.”

The Coffee Morning will be held monthly with a different topic discussed at each session, to be decided by the group.

The Mayor, Councillor Mohammed Nazir, who opened the first session, welcomed these coffee mornings saying they are beneficial and will improve the health and well-being of women in the community.

To coincide with the event, the COVID-19 vaccination bus was stationed at the centre for the day for local residents.

Shaida said, “It is very important that we encourage everyone to get vaccinated and to get a booster jab to protect our communities.”
