On 30th June 2021, the SPACE (Slough Prevention Alliance Community Engagement) contract came to a close after five years. SPACE is a collaboration of local and national voluntary and community organisations who represent various groups in Slough, working in partnership to provide information and advice to residents, deliver support services to carers and offer wellbeing activities with the aims to prevent and postpone the need for formal care.
Slough CVS would like to thank all those partners, both funded and in-kind, for their hard work in coming together to deliver vital services and activities to keep the residents healthy, happy and informed to make Slough a better place.
The collaboration of Voluntary and Community Sector organisations continues however, in the form of #OneSlough. Since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, the VCS, businesses and the statutory sector have continued to work together to respond to residents needs from providing shopping and prescriptions to welfare checks and hot food parcels.
From 1st July 2021, as part of #OneSlough, the #OneSlough Community Fund will continue to enable organisations to deliver exciting and innovative projects to help in the recovery from Covid-19 and support those who are most vulnerable in our communities as we begin to get back to normality.
