The #OneSlough initiative was launched in March 2020, bring together voluntary groups, businesses, faith communities NHS and Slough Borough Council to support residents during the COVID-19 pandemic with food and prescription deliveries to vaccination drives. The Wellbeing Friend initiative provided social calls to isolated residents. #OneSlough also led targeted health messaging through community leaders and community champions. The programme continues, promoting wellbeing, volunteering and vaccine uptake across Slough’s diverse communities.
With the support of our statutory partners, Slough CVS, (Charity No. 1069086) leads the #OneSlough initiative and actively recruits volunteers to support our local voluntary and community sector. Slough CVS has been accredited with the Volunteer Centre Quality Accreditation.
Slough CVS also administer the #OneSlough Fund on behalf of our statutory partners, identifying the key priorities and local needs of Slough residents and the issues the town and its communities are currently facing.
The annual #OneSlough Awards celebrate the achievements of local voluntary and community groups, volunteers and statutory and business partnerships in Slough.
Slough CVS’s Community Engagement team work with 'seldom-heard groups' a term referring to under-represented people who use or might potentially use health and social services and are less likely to be heard by these service professionals and decision-makers. Health information on this website is sourced from trusted sources (NHS, SBC, Public Health).

We aim to work together with neighbourhoods and individuals in Slough to provide services that are better designed to serve local health and social care needs.
We can achieve this by:
- Implementing effective and sustainable community-led approaches, particularly in areas of greatest need.
- Engaging and investing in people to build and strengthen good health and wellbeing for their communities.
- Building confidence, knowledge, skills and capacity of local people.
- Working in partnerships with local organisations and agencies to provide volunteering and employment opportunities.
